1. About these terms

These terms and conditions govern all bookings and services provided by Mad Pixie Makeup (Lucy Pinder), based in Strensall, York. By making a booking you agree to these terms.

2. Bookings and deposits

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment date. The deposit amount will be confirmed at the time of booking.

The remaining balance is due on the day of the appointment. We accept payment by bank transfer or cash.

Your date is only secured once the deposit has been received in full.

3. Cancellations and rescheduling

• Cancellations made more than 14 days before the appointment: deposit is forfeited but no further charge applies

• Cancellations made within 14 days of the appointment: full payment may be required

• Rescheduling requests made more than 14 days in advance: deposit can be transferred to a new date (subject to availability)

• Rescheduling within 14 days of the appointment: at our discretion

We reserve the right to cancel an appointment due to illness or emergency. In this case, a full refund of any deposit paid will be issued.

4. Bridal bookings

For bridal bookings, a higher deposit may be required. Full payment is due no later than 14 days before the wedding date.

A makeup trial is strongly recommended and is treated as a separate booking. Trial fees are not deducted from the wedding day total unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Patch tests

Clients with sensitive skin or known allergies are advised to request a patch test at least 48 hours before their appointment. Mad Pixie Makeup will not be held responsible for any reactions to products where a patch test was not requested.

6. Health and safety

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a service if we believe it is not safe to proceed — for example, if a client has a skin condition, infection, or open wound in the treatment area.

Clients must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or skin sensitivities before their appointment.

7. Travel

A travel fee may apply for appointments outside of Strensall, York. This will be confirmed at the time of booking. In cases of severe weather or exceptional circumstances, we will make every reasonable effort to attend but cannot be held liable for delays or inability to travel.

8. Photography and social media

We may take photographs of our work for portfolio and social media use. Please let us know at the time of booking if you do not wish to be photographed or if your image should not be shared publicly. We will always respect your wishes.

9. Liability

Mad Pixie Makeup carries public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from the provision of our services.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
